I chose to do a fashion type of portrait. I thought about making mine different by making it only of her body, I also chose a different location. It's kind of simple but I used a Gradient map edit, even though it looks really simple, it took a lot of steps. Im pretty happy with the out come, cause simple but different was what i was going for.. And that is was pretty much the result. The model i used was chelsea, she's sort of in a fashion type pose.. But it was nothing too drastic. She was semi-dressed up for ASB that day, so i decided to shoot her.

On Location
On this assignment we were supossed to pick a different setting for a location, and i chose the library. because you don't often see pictures taken in a library. i brought the strobe into the library also to enhance the lighting. i thought this picture came out well, i like how there is books at every corner at the picture.

Reflection;
On my portfolio shots i thought that I did a fair job. The artists' I used as the inspiration for these pictures was Irving Penn. I liked the portraits he shot. He mainly used black and white in his photos, as did I. Black and white portraits were the theme I used inspired by Penn, my portfolio I thought was different because I used one particular model, Kubes, and my main focus was the changing on lighting. In all of my shots, you can tell each lighting is a bit different. My over all portfolio shots turned out really well, I actually ended up liking some of my shot's alot.. I thought it was pretty good for some "last minute work." I used photoshop on my photos of course, I messed around with the brightness/contrast on my photos a lot, and also converted every photo into black and white.

10 Ugly Photos.
This is my reflection on the 10 ugly photos of our house. The purpose of this shot was to basically try and find the beauty in really ugly things. The pictures that i shot of my house weren't necessarily ugly, but they were really messy. Some of the pictures that i shot were my downstairs kitchen, which showed the messy dishes in the sink, and over by the coffee maker where the creamer and the sugars make a mess. Then other pictures i shot were in my room. My room was most likely the messiest place in the house, but underneath all the ugly and the messy there is some form of prettyness. I think i would've liked this assignment more if i had a better camera, because i dont really like the quality that my pictures came out. We also had to print our 10 photos and put it only to an actual house that we created, i liked it. gave it some sense of creativity.

Robert Frank.

I chose Robert Frank as the photographer I wanted because, I like his photos. There not the typical photos of some type of poverty or hard times, his photos sometimes are reallly simple.. but you know if you really look into the depth of the photo theres a story behind it. This photo i chose includes a baby on the floor, in an old house, and an old music machine. Somewhere in this photo if you look deep enough there is some kind of meaning in this photo.
