10 Ugly Photos.
This is my reflection on the 10 ugly photos of our house. The purpose of this shot was to basically try and find the beauty in really ugly things. The pictures that i shot of my house weren't necessarily ugly, but they were really messy. Some of the pictures that i shot were my downstairs kitchen, which showed the messy dishes in the sink, and over by the coffee maker where the creamer and the sugars make a mess. Then other pictures i shot were in my room. My room was most likely the messiest place in the house, but underneath all the ugly and the messy there is some form of prettyness. I think i would've liked this assignment more if i had a better camera, because i dont really like the quality that my pictures came out. We also had to print our 10 photos and put it only to an actual house that we created, i liked it. gave it some sense of creativity.

Robert Frank.

I chose Robert Frank as the photographer I wanted because, I like his photos. There not the typical photos of some type of poverty or hard times, his photos sometimes are reallly simple.. but you know if you really look into the depth of the photo theres a story behind it. This photo i chose includes a baby on the floor, in an old house, and an old music machine. Somewhere in this photo if you look deep enough there is some kind of meaning in this photo.

Yellow Boat Assignment.
This assignment was for Yellow Boat. The reason for shooting this is for aids, I used Nicole Kubiak as my model, and I shot her with a red ribbon around her eyes. I chose to make the rest of the photo black and white except for the ribbon to make it really stand out. Aids is a really important topic in our society, and a lot of people are turning up with aids these days and its important that people know about aids. I like the way Nicole is posed in this picture, the way her arms are extended out give the photo this sense of care free express. I like it.

Still Motion Project.
We got assigned a still motion project, Split into two different groups but still had the same project. Two people came up with one whole idea, and the two different groups had to create the same project, at the end the two were very different. The idea of the project was a girl and a guy, and they both had this power that when they touched something it would dissapear, and some how the objects that they touched would end up in a journal that the two of them kept. At the end the boy and girl find each other, and hold hands and end up in a journal together. It was a cute little concept, my group shot in the studio, with Lizette as the model. We used the strobe as light, a black background and props such as a bench and a light to give it a park like setting. And other objects like a ball and flowers that the lead model would touch.. and end up in the journal.

LastShot2.
I had no motivation for this shot. I sort of did my model's make up and then wrapped them up in miscellaneous blankets. The lighting I used for this shot also was a desk lamp, as bad as it sounds it worked out really good. I like how soft the light touches their faces and the posture of their hands. It would also appear that their naked but they actually aren't. Over all i was happy with the outcome of this shot.

LastShot1.
So this was the last shot of the year. This shot was supposed to be the best shot, I think this picture shows how much I improved from the beginning of the year, because if you go back and look at my shots from the start they look horrible. I actually liked this picture even though it was very spare of the moment. It was shot in my bathtub, she is wearing clothes.. even though she looks naked. I used a desk lamp for the lighting and turned out the bathroom light.Wednesday, May 20, 2009
Fall.
This is the Mya Angelou project, and we had to create a season type shot with the colors of the season we chose. I chose to do a fall shot, with my model Nicole. I used cloud, tree and bird brushes because they had some type of significance to fall. The colors i used were, warm colors like brown, orange, yellow, pink. Colors that contrasted well together. I am happy with the way my shot turned out. I also have a quote from Mya at the bottom right side of the photo.Tuesday, April 21, 2009
BG.
Elements..
What we have here is the simple Elements of Design. Space, Texture, Line, Shape&Form, and Color. I liked this project because not only did i learn the elements of design, it was fun to actually go outside and look around for this stuff. I used the flower in color because it was kind of a bright color surrounded by dull, basic colors so it really stood out. I used clouds for shape and form, because you never know the basic shape of a cloud, their all different sizes and shapes. Line was made from the Pillers outside around the circle of the sun, it was perfect because the way they aligned, and i got it at a really good angle. Grass was used for texture, because it has a really distinct feeling and the grass is different lengths and all. On space I used the lunch harbor, because.. its a lot of space basically.

Glamorous shot.

This is for the project we had to do, where were supossed to make our models skin look nice, and make them look like movie stars, I guess. I think i did a good job, we used digital, and the strobe. The strobe really does a good job on changing the outcome of your pictures. I like how the picture looks warm. I kind of messed around with the contrast and the brightness and it helped a lot with the picture. I also sharpened the picture, because when it first came out it was a little blurry, so I just sharpened up the pixels.

Fashion Shoot.

Here i have my fashion shoot. i shot nicole, for like an old navy ad. basic b/w 3 images. i had to do alot of photoshop because my film was over developed so it was really dark, and hard to see my negs. i used filters, it kind of helped a little. my favorite one was the one where she was on the stool laughing. i had to edit that one the most because it had another picture outline on it, which mad it look really funny. so i had to do a lot of photoshop to that one. it was a fun project.

watercolor painting on photoshop.
Just messing with photoshop. Using watercolor painting. I used photoshopessentials as a tutorial. The steps where pretty easy, we had to include one letter of our name, i used a W for my last name. the number 7 stands for my "lucky" number. Our faces weren't supposed to be in the middle so I was sort of near the screen and out of center. I used the filters Artistic and Noise, with 4 layers. This project was pretty easy if you're good at following steps the right way.
